We are located in Albright West Virginia and are one of twelve Volunteer Fire Departments in Preston County. Our department was founded April 22 1959 with our new building completed in 1996.
AVFD provides fire and rescue services to Albright and surrounding areas including Crane School House road, Ruthbell, Beech Run, Coal Lick Rd, Lenox, Rt. 26 to Woolen Mill Rd. We also assist Kingwood and Bruceton Mills Volunteer Fire departments when needed.
Company 1 operates out of one building that has an office, meeting room, showers, truck bay for the
trucks and equipment and a outdoor pavilion. The lower building is the Fire Hall, it is used for Bingo, events, and can be used by the Community and District.
We have sixteen active firefighters, four business officers, seventeen asociates and volunteers who
make our department a success.
All our members are volunteers, Our business meeting is the first Monday of the month.
New members are welcome, if you would like to donate your time and talent to help and be a
firefighter, associate, or volunteer to help with Bingo or fundraisers, AVFD welcomes you. Call or email for more information.
Firefighters are men and women who actively fight fires and go on rescues.
Associates are members who are business officers or members who help with activities and events that
the department holds.
The county has 11 other fire departments, 8 ambulance squads and Company 17 the County Dive team.
